COPPER OXY CHLORIDE 50% WP

Fungicides

Fungi are heterotrophic, that is they cannot produce their own food, so they need organic food to grow.

Saprotrophic fungi obtain food from dead organic matter, that is dead plants or animals. While parasitic fungi do so by feeding on living organisms (usually plants), thus causing dis- ease.

Copper S is a copper-based fungicide, effective on broad-spectrum of bacterial and fungal diseases through its contact action. Its fine particle size helps to keep stuck to leaves, hence providing cover for longer period as compared to other fungicides.

Pack sizes: 500gm.

Mode of Action

Copper S is a broad-spectrum protective fungicide which eliminates fungi by disrupting its enzyme production. Hydroxy and amino acids produced by spores react with Copper Oxy Chloride forming toxic copper complexes, hence prohibiting fungi germination.

Recommendation:

Wettable powder containing copper oxy chloride equivalent to copper content 50% balance wetting, dispersing and suspending agents and inert carriers. Copper oxy chloride is a con- tact fungicide effective against a wide range of plant diseases, such as leaf spot, fruit rot, bud rot, canker, blights, koleroga, downy mildew and red rust on crops like areca nut, coco- nut, banana, citrus, chilies, cardamom, coffee, tobacco, tomato, potato, paddy and grapes.
